Khordong Byangter Monastery was founded by the late Chhimed Rigdzin Rinpoche in order to protect and spread the teachings of this lineage which were taught by Padmasambhava and rediscovered in the 14th and 19th century by the tertons Rigdzin Godem and Nuden Dorje.

Butter Lamp Retreat: January 24th to February 13th

mini-P1000587.JPGThe 19th Butterlamp retreat is taking place from January 24th to February 13th,  2010 and will be followed by the celebration of the Tibetan new year (Losar), from  February 14th onwards.

So far we have confirmation of several persons who will make the effort to travel to India to engage into the practice, but nobody came yet clearly forward to sponsor the expenses of the Dalda (butter). Either partly or in its totality.

  Please contact us directly if you wish to participate financially to make this 19th Butterlamp retreat possible.

This year the pilgrimage to Sikkim within the butterlamp retreat will focus on the holy place of Kachopelri Lake-famously known as a wish-fulfilling lake. It is Tulku Ugen Chencho dearest wish, that as many participants as possible get the chance to reach this lake to pray and offer lamps, making special aspirations and wishing together for the swift return of our beloved Chhimed Rigdzin Rinpoche as well as for their own personnal wishes.
