Khordong Byangter Monastery was founded by the late Chhimed Rigdzin Rinpoche in order to protect and spread the teachings of this lineage which were taught by Padmasambhava and rediscovered in the 14th and 19th century by the tertons Rigdzin Godem and Nuden Dorje.

OM SOTI...

This year the lamas and a few of us have been very fortunate to receive teachings on the 37 practice of a Boddhisatva and empowerment from His Holiness the Dalai Lama who stayed in Salugara for 2 days on 23rd and 24th December 2010. It was a very nice and meaningful way to start this 20th Butterlamp retreat and celebrate Christmas.

The lights are now dancing on this world from Khordong Byangter monastery throughout the day and more than 30.000 have already been offered. Our young monks have grown up and it is nice to see them take more and more responsibility in the process and put more dedication and meaning  into it.

Thanks to the generosity and commitment to some of you, today we can confirm with you the dates for the accumulation of Rinpoche’s swift incarnation prayer. Tulku Ugen together with a few monks and a few of us will go to Kechopalri lakein west-Sikkim for 2 days.

The recitation of the Om Soti prayer will happen on January 6th and 7th, 2011 from Kechopalri lake and will then be continued in the Gompa from January 9th, 2011 until the end of the lamps offering on January 16th, 2011.

All of you who feel concern about Rinpoche’s recognition are invited to join in the recitation and accumulation in order to reach together the symbolic figure of 111.111 recited prayers. Please send us your counts at thechhimedrigdzinsociety@yahoo.com

A very happy New Year and our warmest season greetings to all of you.

Stay with us…
