Khordong Byangter Monastery was founded by the late Chhimed Rigdzin Rinpoche in order to protect and spread the teachings of this lineage which were taught by Padmasambhava and rediscovered in the 14th and 19th century by the tertons Rigdzin Godem and Nuden Dorje.

Kolkata-Gangtok

We are happy to announce you that it was with great joy and relief that the lamas have welcome the return of Tulku Ugen Chencho to the Gompa on November 26th.  His kidney stone treatment has been done successfully in Kolkata and he has recovered well. Our sincere gratitude goes to those who morally and financially supported us during these insecure times.

A week after his return Tulku Ugen was already  back on the roads, heading towards Gangtok to pay his respect to Taklung Tsetrul Rinpoche who was there for some time. The next day he was followed by 10 of our monks who were given the chance to meet Rinpoche personnaly and receive his blessing.

Lopon Choewang had already met Rinpoche before, but for most of the younger ones it was the very first time as most of them joined Khordong Byangter Monastery end of 2007, several months after Taklung Tsetrul Rinpoche had given the Byangter transmission.

They all came back very excited of their excursion to Gangtok.
